On suicide, kindness and humour
For World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD🎗️), I wanted to draw your attention to two quite different books on the subject.
The Sound Inside: Adam Rapp — fiction or reality
The Sound Inside, a play by Adam Rapp and directed by Stella Reid — excellent acting, a tight performance. I loved the emotional intelligence and subtle humour around a writer’s take on life’s serious and ludicrous moments. Also, the blurred boundaries around fiction and reality.
My personal history with Proust
Today (18 Nov, ‘22) is the 100th anniversary of Proust’s death. I was asked if I’d like to write about ‘mon histoire personnelle avec Proust’ for the Bibliothèque Municipale de Lille. Here’s my English version:
