Todd Atticus designs multiple covers for And How Are Things With You

Todd Atticus wrote a fascinating piece for Spine magazine about the very public process of creating — live at Unity Books Wellington — multiple covers for And How Are Things With You.

I love the cover with the yellow line / London Underground — several scenes from And How Are Things With You are set there. I also love the one next to it, with the title in blue fragments. And I was very moved by the cover with the expanse of open water and the yellow line. But the chosen cover (top left) is the one — so much ‘blue-sky’ thinking went into its creation; it took all the other covers to get there, and involved, as Todd says in his Spine article, ‘ a different kind of magic — and exposure’.

I feel very grateful to Todd Atticus and to Mākaro Press — three months now, until the book comes out.

In September, Farlane on Writing subscribers will go in the draw for a signed copy of And How Are Things With You.
