In June, thanks to Iona Winter, I’ll have two signed books to give away: an anthology and a poetry collection. A liminal gathering Elixir & Star Grief Almanac 2023, edited by Iona Winter and In the shape of his hand lay a river (Elixir & Star Press, 2024). You can hear Iona Winter read from her poetry collection on her podcast - rocks in my pockets – "creativity and suicide bereavement – New Zealand artists speak”.

Elixir & Star Press publisher descriptions:
The inaugural Elixir & Star Press Grief Almanac a liminal gathering was launched in November 2023. With over 100 contributing multimedia artists, a liminal gathering contains poetry, essays, short fiction, photography, visual art and music.

In the shape of his hand lay a river is Iona Winter’s latest poetry collection, written as part of a body of work after her son, Reuben Winter, took his life in 2020. ‘Winter’s poetry and incantations weave through bodies of water, while speaking to the coexistence of pain and love’

✨ In June two Farlane on Writing newsletter subscribers will win a signed copy of these Elixir & Star publications 📚

Each ‘book draw’ book is one that the main character in my forthcoming novel And How Are Things With You (Mākaro Press, Sept 2026) might have read — or want to read.

In September, Farlane on Writing subscribers will go in the draw for a signed copy of And How Are Things With You.

Farlane on Writing — see sign up form below — is a where I showcase others writers’ work and share my own writing news.
